Thinking about switching to an electric car in South Africa?

Learn how EVs work, calculate your real costs, and choose the right car for your life and budget.

⚡ Why You Should Switch to EV.

Switching to an electric vehicle isn’t just about keeping up with trends — it’s about making a choice that benefits you and the world around you.

Here’s why:

  • Save on running costs: Electricity is cheaper than petrol or diesel, and EVs have fewer moving parts, meaning lower maintenance.

  • Cleaner environment: EVs produce zero tailpipe emissions, helping reduce air pollution and fight climate change.

  • Future-proof your drive: With fuel prices rising and governments pushing for greener transport, EVs are the smart long-term choice.

  • Quiet, smooth performance: EVs deliver instant torque and a calm driving experience that makes every trip enjoyable.

  • Charging convenience: From home charging to public stations, powering your car is becoming easier every day in South Africa.

At LetsChargeSA, we’ll help you understand the costs, benefits, and options so you can confidently take the first step toward electric driving.

About Us

One person's search for answers became a platform for everyone

I started LetsChargeSA and the YouTube channel ChargeGoEv because, when I first looked into electric vehicles, I struggled to find clear, local information. Most of what I found came from international sources, which didn’t always match our South African context.

That’s when I realised  if I was searching for answers, others must be too. So I created this platform for anyone who wants to watch, read, or simply explore what EVs are all about. Whether you’re curious, considering the switch, or just want to understand how charging works, this space is here to make the journey easier.

My goal is simple: to share knowledge, break down the jargon, and help South Africans see how EVs can fit into everyday life.
